Missions and Responsabilities

Project Planning Support

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of project plans, including scope, schedules, and resource requirements

  • Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure project plans are executed efficiently

Logistical Coordination

  • Coordinate and monitor the logistics of onsite operations, including equipment deployment, materials procurement, and personnel scheduling

  • Ensure timely availability of resources required for project execution

Documentation and Reporting 

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including reports, schedules, and meeting minutes

  • Generate daily project status reports for communication with stakeholders

Communication Hub

  • Serve as a central point of contact for onsite teams, facilitating communication and information flow

  • Relay project updates and information between onsite and offsite teams

Safety and Compliance 

  • Lead health and safety initiatives on site, working closely with the HSE team

  • Monitor and enforce compliance with safety protocols, conducting regular safety inspections and audits

  • Assist in the implementation and enforcement of safety protocols to ensure a secure working environment

  • Support compliance efforts with environmental regulations and company policies

Team Collaboration 

  • Collaborate with diverse project teams, including geotechnical engineers, operators, and support staff, to ensure smooth project workflows

  • Facilitate effective communication and cooperation among team members

Resource Tracking 

  • Track resource utilization, including equipment, manpower, and materials, to support efficient project execution

  • Assist in managing project budgets and monitoring expenditures

Issue Resolution 

  • Identify and escalate issues that may impact project timelines or budgets to Project Managers

  • Contribute to the development of solutions for effective issue resolution

Technical skills

The candidate’s technical skills in ground improvement and the mining industry are crucial for effective project coordination and the successful execution of projects in this specialized field. Menard Canada is looking for a candidate with:

  • Understanding of the mining industry and key players

  • Familiarity with tailings facility management systems and risks

  • Background in Geotechnical Engineering

  • Technical understanding and experience with the application of Ground Improvement techniques and solutions

  • Knowledge of quality management tools and techniques to ensure project deliverables meet specified standards

  • Ability to monitor project timelines and ensure deadlines are met and clients are informed

  • Knowledge of tools and techniques for identifying, assessing, and managing project risks

  • Proficiency with Microsoft O365 environment

Communication skills

The candidate must have effective communication skills to contribute to a collaborative and efficient project environment, helping to prevent misunderstandings, improve teamwork, and ensure that project goals are met. The following skills are required:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create clear and concise project documentation, reports and e-mails

  • Comfortable interacting with various stakeholders, conveying information and ensuring that everyone involved in the project is on the same page

  • Confidence developing positive and collaborative relationships with team members, partners, and clients

  • Ability to communicate project updates internally and externally via meetings, presentations and e-mails

Education and Languages

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering other relevant degree

  • Proven working experience in the Mining industry

  • Excellent verbal and written command of English (French an asset)

  • 2+ years experience
