This unique co-op position offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in both field operations and design engineering. The successful candidate will support both the Operations and Design teams, alternating between on-site project execution and design office tasks based on project requirements. - Work term duration: 4 to 8 months (Summer/Spring 2026)
- Salary/Wage:
– $23.50 to $24.50/hour (depending on experience)
– 4% vacation pay
– $0.71/km for travel
– Accommodation and $80/night per diem for out-of-town assignments
Main Responsabilities
- Participate in site preparation (risk analysis, HSE documentation, logistics)
- Assist in daily management of site activities (progress tracking, quality control, surveying).
- Support project coordinators and managers during site meetings and client interactions
- Manage materials, equipment, and resources on site
- Promote and comply with company safety, quality, and environmental policies
- Contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement
- Assist in preparing technical documentation (drawings, quantity take-offs, risk analyses, HSE documentation)
- Help draft and update project tracking documents (office/site binders, project histories)
- Contribute to bid preparation and tender documentation
- Perform basic geotechnical analyses under supervision
- Support the Design Engineer during site visits (observation, data collection, technical meetings)
- Participate in updating internal tools (templates, lessons learned)
- Civil Engineering student (minimum 2nd year completed)
- Basic knowledge of construction techniques, site management, and geotechnical engineering
- Proficient with MS Office; working knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil3D, MS Project, MS Teams
- Analytical and problem-solving mindset
- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills, team player, effective communicator
- Curiosity, willingness to learn, and ability to thrive in a technical environment
- Valid driver’s license and car (mandatory for field work; asset for design)
