Job description

Health and safety

  • Ensure all HSE requirements are respected according to risk assessment and safety manual and comply with WorkSafe ON regulation

  • Attend project safety orientation and make sure all staff and visitors have followed the orientation prior to access the site

  • With the help of the safety officer, establish a site hazard analysis prior to start of the works

  • Report accidents to HSE officer and supervisor

  • Carry out a safety tool box with site staff on weekly basis

  • Report accidents to Management and HSE Advisor

Project Preparation 

The Assistant Project Manager is subject to following-up one or multiple sites at the same time and assist as required Construction Superintendent & Site Manager on projects. They are also responsible for:

  • Coordinate client and site kickoff

  • Prepare Budgets

  • Make contractual review

  • Link with Design Department

  • All documents (HSE, Method statement, BC one call)

  • Make sure that the Construction Superintendent is aware of all the particularities on the site and to visit sites prior to mobilization

Project Supervision 

  • Supervise and Train the Site Managers

  • Ensuring the validity of the Design parameters

  • In charge of preparation of the summary sheet check list

  • Attend to all meeting requested by the Client

  • Be the main point of contact of the Client

  • Follow the budget, P&L

  • Ability to read and understand drawings/specifications

  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and schedules while maintaining safety and profitability

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Working knowledge of construction tools and equipment

  • Knowledge of MS Office

  • Team player with a positive ‘can do’ attitude

  • Good conflict management skills

Education and Languages

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering other relevant degree

  • 3+ years experience

  • Excellent verbal and written command of English
