TRANSPORTATION & INFRASTRUCTURES
Proposed transportation routes are often in the path of obstacles which can require spanning, tunneling or a change in grade. To overcome these obstacles, the construction of embankments, abutments and retaining walls can be required and can generate significant loads which are carried by the foundation soils. Traditional construction practises involved supporting these heavily loaded structures by piles. However, Menard Canada offers a myriad of ground improvement solutions which can be both an economical and faster alternative to deep foundation systems. Ground improvement systems can even be design in conjunction with other economical structures such as MSE walls.
Objectives
- Control settlements under roads and structures
- Ensure global stability of high embankments and retaining walls
- Economize time and expense of construction
